Thaifoon - Taste of Asiais a thoroughly engaging dining experience featuring modern Asian cuisine. Thaifoon is described as approachable, affordable Asian food and is the brainchild of Owner Randy Schoch.
The idea for Thaifoon came to Randy through his appreciation for the Asian foods that he had enjoyed during the 20 years he lived in Hawaii and traveled throughout Southeast Asia and the United States. So, Randy created Thaifoon with the vision that the traditional cuisines of Asia could be created with a modern flair for presentation and quality. He assembled a team of talented culinary and restaurant professionals from around the country to help develop the new restaurant’s menu and culinary offerings. In the front of the house, Randy put his own personal touches into the atmosphere and style of service based on a philosophy of providing a casual, hospitable, and engaging dining experience for every guest.
In March 2003, Thaifoon in Salt Lake City opened in the Gateway Center (the epicenter of the 2002 Winter Olympic ceremonies and activities). Guests, industry experts, and local media professionals have all embraced the restaurant, propelling its popularity and reputation.
